Westminster, CA – Injury-Causing Wreck on I-5 Near Ball Rd

Westminster, CA (January 19, 2024) – On Friday evening, January 19, a two-vehicle accident occurred in the Westminster area, resulting in injuries to victims and an hour of traffic delays.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash involved two sedans that collided in the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 at around 6:00 p.m. At the incident scene, close to the Ball Road off-ramp, paramedics were dispatched to aid those injured in the crash. Although at least one person was sent to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, it is unclear how many total victims were injured or the severity of the other victims’ injuries. The authorities are investigating the accident and have not provided additional details.

Our thoughts go out to the injured victims and their families. We hope for their full recovery.

Injury-Causing Crashes in Orange County

Claims involving multiple vehicles are common in the Golden State due to the high traffic volume on congested thoroughfares, such as the 405 and other major freeways in Southern California. In fact, the popular 5 and 110 have up to eight lanes in one direction and see hundreds of thousands of vehicles pass each other daily during the morning and evening rush hours.

Oftentimes, personal injury claims are exceedingly complicated, especially when negotiating with insurance companies. When three or more cars are involved in a collision, “finger-pointing” escalates to the point where the claims cannot be handled without litigation to determine what caused the accident and who is legally responsible for the damages.

Moreover, accidents involving three or more cars typically happen when they follow one another too closely, stop abruptly, or change lanes without signaling or too swiftly for other drivers to respond, meaning that several causes may be behind one wreck involving multiple drivers. It just takes one careless driver to start a chain reaction when they suddenly halt, slow down, or switch lanes, causing other vehicles to collide with them or swerve into oncoming traffic. What’s worse is that these “split-second decision” elements are sometimes exacerbated by environmental conditions like rain and wet roads, leading to more accidents.

Of course, any type of automobile collision is traumatic, and the trauma does not end after the initial crash is over. Thankfully, a reputable auto accident attorney can help you overcome these circumstances and reclaim control of your life.

When you retain a qualified attorney, they can file a negligence or liability claim against the individuals at fault for your accident, which means you can secure compensation to cover a number of losses, including medical payments, any ongoing treatment expenses, and loss of consortium. A seasoned attorney will assist you in organizing the facts of your case and building a strong claim that will maximize your compensation based on the specifics of your case.
